Volunteer Work
Under the supervision of the lecturer (Dr. Suad Mahmoud Kadhim) a group of students from our department conducted a voluntary work including cleaning the desks and some classroom furniture of the department and the maintenance of the classrooms on Wednesday, 13/12/2017

Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Abdel Moneim has received a letter of thanks and appreciation from the acting of the Ministry due to the distinguished efforts exerted in evaluating the preparation researches (I, II and III) of the Iraqi Journal of Science and Technology.
MSc. Thesis
The Thesis of the master's student (Ban Kareem Hadi) specialized in optical electronics engineering was discussed, the thesis entitled:
( Wide band Raman fiber amplifier based on Bi-directional fiber model )
on Thursday 7/12/2017 and the student was obtained the MSc. degree.
Awareness Lectures
Our department held two awareness lectures on (the danger of terrorist thought and the importance of voluntary work) by the presence of the Assistant President of the University for the administrative affairs and the number of the teaching staff of the department. The lecture was given by the assistant lecturer (Sari Tahseen Rishan) on Sunday 17/12/2017 at the lecturer room No. (6) at 12:30 pm.

Awareness lecture
Our tutor Dr. Ali Abdul Khaleq Abdul Hadi has gave awareness lecture to staff members and students on the dangers of smoking and the resulting damage and to reduce the spread of the phenomenon of drugs and prevent the dangers on 21/11/2017

The Integrated Simulation Model for the League of Arab States
The General Secretariat urged universities to participate in the second version of the Integrated Simulation Model for the League of Arab States for the period from 12/11/2017 to 3/2017, which aims at introducing the participants to the aspects of the joint Arab action system and raising the awareness of the Arab community on the importance of the role of the Arab League In support of the unity of the Arab class, knowing that the participant bears all the expenses of participation.
"Femto Second Laser and its Applications"
The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering held a scientific seminar at Femto second Laser and Its Applications which included four scientific lectures.
The head of the department of laser and optoelectronics engineering, Dr. Mohammed Abdel Wahab Minshid said in his speech: "Our department, since its establishment and its branches (laser engineering branch and optoelectronics branch) has been striving to keep abreast of the development of laser applications. In this day, our seminar includes four specialized scientific lectures in the field of laser. At the end of the seminar recommendations will be written to be a path of interaction and communication in order to serve the society and its institutions.
In conclusion, the scientific seminar recommended focusing on the government departments and the private sector, especially the Ministry of Health, on the importance of using femto second laser in medical and scientific applications, expanding the applied research for postgraduate students in the department and outside it in cooperation with the relevant institutions through joint supervision and focusing on transfer this filed to the laser and optoelectronics department due to it has a important impact to developing the ability of the undergraduate and postgraduate students and in order to open a workshops in this field to showing the importance of the laser and its application in different field.

The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering will hold a seminar entitled "Femto Second Laser and its Applications" at 9:00 am on Thursday, 23/11/2017, in the main hall - Control and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Technology

The Assistant Professor Dr. Abdelhadi Kadhim in our department has obtained a patent dated October 26, 2017 from the Ministry of Planning - Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control and tagged (smashing the blue methyl acetylene molecules by optical stimulation using nanobibium oxide)
