Zahraa is an assistant lecturer at Optoelectronics branch at the department. She received the BSc. degree in Optoelectronics engineering from Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering Department / University of Technology, Iraq in 2011, where she also became a member of the faculty. She received the MSc degree with distinction in Photonic and Optical Engineering from University of Nottingham, UK in 2016.

Current research interests include the design of the optical fiber sensors, photonics, and optoelectronics engineering.
